What it is
A grid of reference images with captions and tags. Add by upload, paste-from-clipboard, or Unsplash search (when configured). Tags let you filter the board by theme — characters, environments, lighting, UI style.
When to use it
- Establishing visual direction at the start of pre-production.
- Briefing a contractor on the art style without long doc descriptions.
- Collecting "look at how this game does it" references for a mechanic discussion.
- Curating a moodboard per region or character for the art lead.
How to use it
- 1Drag images directly onto the canvas, or paste from clipboard.
- 2Add a caption and tags as you go — searchable later.
- 3Search Unsplash (top-right) for free stock if you don't have references yet.
- 4Drag tiles to re-order; the order is saved per-project.
Tips you should know
- →Storage budget includes mood-board images — they're the easiest way to fill the Free 100 MB cap.
- →Removing a moodboard tile permanently deletes the R2 file — no undo.
- →Tags are casual — "character" / "weapon" / "city" — but searching exact-case helps on large boards.
- →Unsplash search needs `UNSPLASH_ACCESS_KEY` in env; without it the button is hidden.
