Mood Board

Visual reference collection for art direction, tone, and atmosphere.

What it is

A grid of reference images with captions and tags. Add by upload, paste-from-clipboard, or Unsplash search (when configured). Tags let you filter the board by theme — characters, environments, lighting, UI style.

When to use it

  • Establishing visual direction at the start of pre-production.
  • Briefing a contractor on the art style without long doc descriptions.
  • Collecting "look at how this game does it" references for a mechanic discussion.
  • Curating a moodboard per region or character for the art lead.

How to use it

  1. 1Drag images directly onto the canvas, or paste from clipboard.
  2. 2Add a caption and tags as you go — searchable later.
  3. 3Search Unsplash (top-right) for free stock if you don't have references yet.
  4. 4Drag tiles to re-order; the order is saved per-project.

Tips you should know

  • Storage budget includes mood-board images — they're the easiest way to fill the Free 100 MB cap.
  • Removing a moodboard tile permanently deletes the R2 file — no undo.
  • Tags are casual — "character" / "weapon" / "city" — but searching exact-case helps on large boards.
  • Unsplash search needs `UNSPLASH_ACCESS_KEY` in env; without it the button is hidden.
