Play the Design

Walk through a playable slice of your GDD before any of it is built.

Was es ist

A text slice of your own game, generated live from what you have designed. It can only use the characters, locations, items, mechanics and objectives that exist in your project — every name it uses is checked against your design in code, not merely requested in a prompt. When a scene reaches for something that is not there, it is recorded as a gap rather than invented, and those gaps are the point: they are the holes reading the document never reveals. Requires an AI provider to be configured on the server.

Wann du es nutzen solltest

  • Checking whether a chapter actually holds up as something a player moves through.
  • Finding out what your design is missing before building anything.
  • Testing whether a location has enough in it to support a scene.
  • Seeing your characters speak in the voice you wrote for them.
  • Onboarding a collaborator by letting them play the design rather than read 40 pages.

Wie du es nutzt

  1. 1Open Play the Design, or use the Play button beside Import/Export.
  2. 2Press Start playing — the slice opens somewhere in your world, varying each session.
  3. 3Type what you do, or pick one of the suggested actions.
  4. 4Watch the panel on the right: it lists what your design turned out to be missing.
  5. 5Start a new session any time to enter through a different location.

Tipps, die du kennen solltest

  • Needs at least one location and one character — without both, a slice would have to invent the world, which is exactly what this refuses to do.
  • Red gaps were caught referencing something outside your design; amber gaps the generator flagged itself.
  • Shortened names are fine — writing "Dr. Reyn" for "Dr. Aldous Theodore Reyn" is correct prose, not an invention, and is not flagged.
  • Only the first chapter with actual prose is sent, so an empty Chapter 1 stub will not starve the scene.
  • Turn quality and speed depend heavily on the configured model — larger models write better scenes but take considerably longer per turn.
