Why GameDesignerX
Built for educators, trusted with student data
Your data stays in the EU
Student data is hosted in Frankfurt. DSGVO-aligned, with a data-processing agreement (AVV) available for your data protection officer.
Students own their work
When a course ends, classes archive read-only — students keep and export everything they made. Nothing is deleted.
Seats recycle each term
A 40-seat license covers your Winter and Summer cohorts alike. Pay for capacity once, reuse it every semester.
A real industry tool
The same 30+ module GDD platform professionals use — structured documents, not a generic doc editor or a toy.
Templates as curriculum
Eight genre templates (RPG, strategy, horror, sim and more) give students a worked example to learn structure from.
Built for collaboration
Real-time co-editing and team work groups mirror how studios actually build a design document together.
Simple per-seat licensing that respects your budget
License the number of student seats you need for the year — sized to a seminar, a course, or a whole department. Seats recycle every term, so a single license covers cohort after cohort. One predictable invoice, VAT-compliant, no per-student reconciliation.
Students are always free. Professors start on a 90-day trial.

Frequently asked
Who pays — the professor or the school?
Professors start free on a trial. When a course goes ahead, the department or institution licenses the seats it needs for the year via a standard invoice. Students never pay.
Do students keep their work after the course?
Yes. When a class is archived, students retain full read and export access to every GDD they created — it becomes a portfolio piece they take with them.
Where is student data stored?
In the EU (Frankfurt). We can provide a data-processing agreement (Auftragsverarbeitungsvertrag) and our subprocessor list for your data protection officer.
How does pricing work?
A flexible per-seat annual license. Seats recycle each term, so one license covers successive cohorts. Get in touch for a quote sized to your seminar, course, or department.
Is there a free trial for instructors?
Yes — a 90-day professor trial with a generous student seat cap. Reach out and we’ll set you up, often with an in-person walkthrough.
