Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data we collect when you use GameDesignerX, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly — such as your name, email address, and payment information — when you register or subscribe. We also collect content you create within the Service (game design documents, notes, uploaded images). When you use the Service, we automatically collect usage data including log files, IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and feature interactions.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: provide and improve the Service; process payments and send transactional emails; respond to support requests; send product updates and newsletters (you may opt out at any time); detect and prevent fraud or abuse; comply with legal obligations; and conduct analytics to understand how the Service is used in aggregate.
3. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only: (a) with service providers who assist in operating the platform (hosting, payments, analytics) under strict confidentiality agreements; (b) if required by law or in response to valid legal process; (c) to protect the rights, property, or safety of GameDesignerX, our users, or others; (d) in connection with a merger or acquisition, in which case we will notify you.
4. Cookies & Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session, remember preferences, and collect analytics data. Essential cookies are required for the Service to function and are set without consent. Non-essential cookies (analytics and preferences) are only placed after you give consent through our cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via the banner or your browser settings.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or to resolve disputes. Anonymized, aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely.
6. Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted storage for sensitive fields, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable laws, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; delete your data ("right to be forgotten"); restrict or object to certain processing; and receive your data in a portable format. We will respond within one month, as required by the GDPR.
8. International Transfers
We are based in the European Union and store your data within the EU/EEA wherever possible. Where personal data is transferred outside the EU/EEA — for example to a service provider — we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or transfers to countries covered by an adequacy decision.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 16 years of age, in line with Article 8 of the GDPR. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
10. Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes by email or through a notice in the Service at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
